I really don't think they were Red rumps as I know
them very well. I looked but did not see any red on the rump and the colour was
too bright to be a female red rump.
However I could see some yellow between the eye and
the bill on one. On both birds there was a band of blue on the outer wing
while sitting. The bands were more like the illustrations of the Elegants
than the Red Rumps or Blue Winged. Both were yellowish on the belly. But
importantly I was not able to see a blue band on the forehead. I did not
get a good look at the birds in flight.I saw them in the
trees.
It is possible I did see Elegants but I do not know
for sure.
