Hi Laurie,

Everything sounds right in the ball park for Painted Button-quail - you could 
rule out smaller BQ’s like Little and Red-chested on size alone and, apart from 
the potential for Brown Quail, they are going to be the only confusion risks in 
BQ group. The habitat and flushing behaviour is on the money for PABQ. BRQU 
usually squeak as they take off but their brown colouration is going to be a 
give-away.
