The following message from the COG President Neil Hermes has just appeared on the mailing list of Canberra Ornithologists Group (COG)
It is with great sadness that I report the sudden passing of Jerry Olsen last Saturday.
Jerry was a great member and friend of COG, a personal friend to many, a consummate professional and a passionate birder.
(I'm sure many of us have some of Jerry's books on raptors and owls on the bookshelves, or have referred to his academic papers. A great loss to the birding community. Sandra H)
