Hello Damian,

 

Thanks for that (and so quick). No, I had not seen that. Mainly because I left Melbourne in 1979. Really good and fits my purpose. It is pretty much exactly what I was searching for and expecting must exist somewhere. The one thing missing though that I was hoping for is a date of birth (to accompany the date of death) or some hint to his age. I guess he must have been in late 80s or early 90s.

Seeking some information for a historic piece I am working on. I am wondering if anyone knows of an obituary or tribute or whatever about Fred (F.T.H.) Smith. Well-known birder in Melbourne, especially of waders etc. I believe he died about 10 years ago. I remember him mainly from BOCA activities in 1970s to 1980s. All I am seeking is a quotable reference or some very basic information.
