Wood Duck behaviour

My only other thought is that instead of the Easter Bunny you have the Christmas Australian Wood Duck, with a somewhat poor sense of timing.

I suspect that might not be the case with this pair.    They have left an egg on three occasions in the last few months, there is little to disturb them in the fenced environs of the pool and they are a fair way from a nesting tree.
