People do keep them in aviaries, and sometimes they escape. I have
been asked over the phone, 3 or 4 times, over the last forty years,
to identify a "bird shaped like a football, with stripes on its
sides." They all turned out to be Chukar.

release of these birds around Gulgong NSW but they aren’t
