gamba grass video

In the past I’ve warned birding-Aussers visiting the Top End about gamba
grass-fuelled fires. This year it’s much worse because of the heavy wet season.
This video shows the spread of gamba grass
In many areas it is out of control. Gamba grass is now growing in many
traditional sites for species birders want to see, Gouldian Finch, for example.
These fires can be as hot as a southern forest fire and they move very fast.
An unsuspecting birder could easily be caught.
Please pass this onto any international birders who may be visiting the Top End.
