I have heard that call as well Greg - this summer I was constantly thinking I
was hearing an Accipiter, but when I found the bird it was a Spangle Drongo.
HANZAB states"once mimicked cry of goshawk" but that is it.
A search of Xeno-canto reveals some that seem similar:

amongst a horde of amazing calls, so may be its own call - but not certain how
you ever prove this with such a prolific mimic.

Concerning Spangled Drongo mimicry I have often heard them mimic a Pied
Butcherbird but I have also heard them doing a call which is very similar to
a Brown Goshawk call. I wonder if it is one of its own calls, as I have
heard it uttered by many Drongos, or whether it is imitating the Brown
Goshawk. I have also seen Drongos actively chasing off Brown Goshawks a
number of times.

I have a bush block adjacent to a birders' haunt well known to
Victorians—Rise and Shine Bush Reserve. My neighbour's block is a Noisy
Miner hangout (with the consequent reduction in bird species diversity) and
every time I hear a Noisy Miner call at my place I have a fleeting panic
that I am about to be invaded and colonised by these gangsters. But, more
often than not when I hear a Noisy Miner call and track it down I find a
Grey Shrike-thrush has mimicked the call. Phew!
