*An October round-up from Cassowary House*
Male and female *Cassowary *daily, they seem to be have been paired up for
the last couple of months, but no sign of any nesting attempt as yet
*Red-necked Crakes* regular at dusk and quite vocal all around, but the dry
conditions have dampened activity
*Victoria's Riflebird *displaying right outside the house atop a dead tree
fern from 0630 daily
*Pied Monarch* very vocal and must be nesting below the house
*White-eared Monarch *vocal along Black Mt Road
*Satin Flycatcher* 1 f Oct 9, this is the month we get the odd one going
through
*Leaden/Satin* f the week before was probably Leaden
Almost no vocal activity from *Superb* and *Rose-crowned Fruit Doves *this
season, very strange as last year they were very m noisy, all I am hearing
is an very occasional call
*Noisy Pitta *very vocal still and at least 3 birds audible from the house
