Location: Flagstaff Hill golf club....near11th. green

Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) (1) Pair seen at a nest built and used by
Little Ravens last season. The Ravens had visited and started 'upgrading' the
nest in late July but seem to have been displaced. This is the first Hobby
nesting seen in over 20 years at the club and none have been seen here for
close to a year.

Date: Sunday, September 18, 2016

Location: On our Rockleigh property

Rainbow Bee-eater (Merops ornatus) (10) Our first sighting for this season. We
have never seen more than 5 bee-eaters previously (mum, dad and 3 young) but
today there was a flock of 10-12 flitting in trees in the very wet creek line

Restless Flycatcher (Myiagra inquieta) (1) Not often seen, but very nice when
it does visit us

Australasian Grebe (Tachybaptus novaehollandiae) (1) The very rare visitor was
on our biggest waterhole (which is not very big) in breeding plumage.
