Wood Ducks have been cackling on chimney tops, and for the last week
there have been splendid evening concerts from male Blackbirds. One
beside the drive, the other out the front - each whistles beautifully,
then pauses, then the other puts in his contribution - the two songs
differ considerably though the voice remains similar. When they get
going, both sing at once.
