I recently fulfilled a long-standing ambition to see all of the world's 234
bird families (according to the ebird-Clements taxonomy to which I
subscribe). Having done so, people have suggested I pen a few words to
describe that experience.

As others have commented on birding-aus recently, I think it's better to
provide links for folk to read further on subjects of interest to them,
