Tim
We visited in early October 2012. The grass-wrens were quite easy to find
and photograph on the nature trails leading out from the dolphin centre
carpark, and we even found them running about under the bushes among the
parking bays. If you can get out to Dirk Hartog island, race leucopterus of
the White-winged Fairy-wren (with nuptial males in all black-and-white
plumage) was easy to find close to the lodge. It was a thrill to see a
territorial dispute between two males in breeding plumage. Dirk Hartog
island is a short flight by light aircraft from the mainland. The lodge was
comfortable and the food good.
The owners may be able to lend you a golf buggy to get around in.
