Hello all. I’m Liz Penhallurick, John’s wife. You may have received news from
John in 2013 and 2014 that he was suffering from motor neurone disease. Very
sadly, but not unexpectedly, John died on 5 September 2014 , and he entrusted
me to try to ensure the continued existence of his website,
www.WorldBirdInfo.net , which he had been working on for many years.

Fortunately an agreement has been reached with the Trust for Avian Systematics
-- which owns the database behind the Howard and Moore Complete Checklist of
the Birds of the World -- to take over the website and continue to make John's
work accessible. However, without making any commitment to extend John's
unfinished work the Trust would like to research the opinions of those who have
used John's website. Any conclusions the Trust reaches will be discussed with
me. I would therefore be very grateful if you could advise me if you would like
to provide individual feedback and/or participate in a survey about
WorldBirdInfo which will be handled by an invitation to access Survey Monkey
for which your e-mail addresses will be needed.

I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter, including advice on other
fora which I should approach..

best regards

Liz
