Many people on this forum have backed a campaign to protect the Yandina
Creek Wetlands on Queensland's Sunshine Coast - the habitat of rare and
endangered birds and large numbers of migratory shorebirds.

The wetland was recently drained but the Queensland Government has now
ordered the opening of a recently installed floodgate so water is returning
the site, along with the birds.

This is a welcome development, though there is a way to go yet to ensure
that the wetland is fully restored.

See the blog post below for full details.
