   Birdline North Queensland

   Published sightings for the week ending 26 Oct 2014.

   Sat 25 Oct Red-tailed Black Cockatoo Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge
   Six flew over the Lodge calling. Only second record in October in nine
   years. Most sightings December to March.

   Mon 20 Oct White-throated Nightjar Mungalla Station--Forrest Beach,
   Queensland
   White-throated Nightjar flushed this morning from southwest boundary
   fenceline where paperbarks meet mangroves. Large, dark bird with no
   white showing in wings or tail. Wings more angular and flight much less
   'floaty' than Large-tailed. No hint of species presence previously. Too
   quickly gone for photo.

   My first sighting of Dollarbird in N. Qld this season.
