Sun 17 Aug Wedge-tailed Eagle Castlereagh
I saw last year's offspring with the female from the Castlereagh

around 15:30. It was low over the treetops and the female was also
hanging around with it. It made such a spectacle that a few cars pulled

   Peregrine Falcon Castlereagh NSW
I was at Smith Road next to the quarries getting my dogs ready to go
into my car. I heard a shrill then a really loud whoosh kind of sound
and noticed the male of my local pair of falcons rise up steeply after
having swooped down hard at an Indian Myna. Sadly he missed and he did
a big turn in the air and stooped down into the quarry near the big
lake, disappearing out of sight. Soon after he went, I hear another
shrill like sound nearby and as I looked upon the power pole about 25
meters from me, the much larger female was sitting there calling. I
just had time to turn my lens to her and she immediately took off after
   her mate.
