Birdline North Queensland

Published sightings for the week ending 27 Apr 2014.

Sun 20 Apr Blue-faced Honeyeater Kewarra Beach / Cairns
Noticed that there are few sightings reported of Blue-faced Honeyeaters in Cairns. None since 2011. Had 2 landing in my garden this morning (1 male & 1 juv), but they received a rather hostile reception by the locals including Spangled Drongos. Saw another two about 5 minutes later and again flying in from the mountains, but unsure whether just the same birds.

Fri 18 Apr Southern Boobook Adels Grove
Great birding in this distant place. Night birds very active and approachable. Hunting nightjars this evening.
