Hi All,

in a couple of days I will be driving to Uluru from Adelaide along the Stuart Hwy, spending a couple of days at the rock, and then returning. It is mostly a family trip, but I am keen not to drive past significant birding spots en route, nor to ignore opportunities while at Uluru.

Possible targets (off the top of my head and in no particular order) are Banded and Chestnut-breasted Whiteface, Australian Bustard, Black-breasted Buzzard, Chats and Gibberbird, Grey Falcon, Bourke's Parrot (and Princess!), Pied Honeyeater, Grey Honeyeater, Western Bowerbird and Cinnamon Quail-thrush. I realise that I'll be lucky to even a couple of these and some are just wishful thinking.

If anyone has gen for the above species or knows of current favoured drinking holes that are not too far off that route, please let me know either via the list or directly to this email.

good birding, Ian
