Published sightings for the week ending 9 Feb 2014.

Sun 9 Feb White-throated Needletail Snug Falls
Approximately forty birds travelling north in direct flight at 1045 hrs. Very warm and still conditions at time of sighting.

Sat 8 Feb Red-browed treecreeper Lower Snug
Female, vagrant. Came to a birdbath on a bush property. [Moderator's note - this sighting is published waiting further confirmation/photos of such an unusual sighting for Tasmania]

Tue 4 Feb Grey Goshawk Long Beach/Sandown Park
One bird soaring low over the kids playground/park adjacent to Long Beach.

Sun 2 Feb Eastern Curlew and Pacific Golden Plover Moulting Lagoon Game Reserve (Flacks Road)
7 Eastern Curlew and 6 Pacific Golden Plover were observed on 2nd February 2014 in the Moulting Lagoon Reserve (entrance end of Flacks Road) between 10-11.30am and 5.30-6.00pm. The Eastern Curlew were foraging in shallow water (10-15cm) approximately 20 metres from the shoreline. The Pacific Golden Plover were observed roosting and flying on the vast banks of Sarcocornia Sp. (Beaded Glasswort).
