I hope all had a happy introduction to the New Year. Michael and I spent
our day at Bagot Reserve (the Aboriginal reserve in Darwin) throwing flour
around with our indigenous relatives. They also threw eggs, one of which I
ended up wearing when one of the ladies gave me a bear hug (she had egg all
over her head and shoulders).

If one would like to have a fun time without the hangover I can heartily
recommend this activity. There are some photos on Facebook if anyone is
interested.

Recently I discovered that an indigenous Hawaiian friend was producing cards
and prints of the constellations and the birds and fish associated with
them. These cards are stunning - I've never seen anything quite like them.

I've absolutely no commercial interest in this, but thought the cards of the
frigatebirds might appeal to Birding Aussers. They're at

Happy New Year!
