Why is our Crested Bellbird (oreoica gutturalis) classified as Incertae sedis
according to the latest IOC Aussie checklist ?

In the notes for IOC Version 3.4 (June 30, 2013) (scientific names added):

Crested Bellbird is related to Crested Pitohui [/Pitohui cristatus/] and Rufous-naped Whistler [/Aleadryas rufinucha/]; separate from Pachycephalidae to Incertae sedis 3, and perhaps new family Oreoicidae (TIF)
