I'm happy to report a rescued shearwater is still alive eight days after being
taken into care. It requires forced (tube) feeding round the clock, with food
made up from a couple of veterinary formulas. But it's gained 100g (up from
350g) and grows feistier by the day.
Once it weighs 700g, it will be taken to a specialised seabird rehabilitation
facility to be conditioned for flight and release.
