Sun 29 Sep	Blue-faced Honeyeater State Hockey Centre, Parkville Searching for insects amongst the lights around the stadium ceiling. Luis Ferreiro
	Double-barred Finch, Square-tailed Kite Chiltern Mount Pilot National Park Two Double-barred Finches near the railway underpass opposite Frog's Hollow Picnic area with two Diamond Firetails. A Square-tailed Kite soaring above the White Box Walk not far from Cyanide Road. Only three Regent Honeyeaters at Green Hill Dam this morning. Chris and Rosemary Lester
	Musk Duck Banyule Flats Reserve, Heidelberg Female or immature bird swimming on western side of Banyule Swamp. Diving repeatedly, spending far more time under water than on surface. First time I have ever seen one here in about forty years of visits, though I did see a male in the Banyule Billabong back in 1970s when the surroundings were cow-paddocks. Anthea Fleming
Sat 28 Sep	Regent, Painted and Scarlet Honeyeaters, Turquoise Parrot Chiltern Mount Pilot National Park Seven Regent Honeyeaters at Green Hill Dam. Four Painted Honeyeaters at Bartley's Block along with a Scarlet Honeyeater, two Turquoise Parrots, a Pallid Cuckoo and a few Western Gerygones. Chris and Rosemary Lester

	Hooded Plover, Sanderling, Australasian Pipit Sandy Point Hooded Plover (4) 2 pair were see at two different places on the main beach. Thu 26 Sep	Regent Honeyeater Chiltern-Mt Pilot NP (Greenhill Road Dam) Two regent honeyeaters seen at this site. Could not see any tags on one but the other bird had a light coloured (?silver or white) tag on left leg and two purple tags on the right leg. S and S King
	Powerful Owl Williamstown Seen this evening on Nelson Pl, near Seaworks. It was perched over the foot path in one of the Elms that line the street. No wonder I haven't seen as many possums as usual. Andrew Hurnard

Wed 25 Sep	Black-eared Cuckoo Murray Sunset NP One bird, not calling, on Rocket Lake Track, just south of Nowingi Line Track. Gil Langfield
	Painted Honeyeater Murray to Mountains Rail Trail (Everton-Beechworth) A morning ride along the trail from Everton to Beechworth and back. Plenty of birds around including some returning spring migrants such as two Painted Honeyeaters calling from stringybark infested with mistletoe at Stilley Lane. Also Sacred Kingfisher, White-browed Woodswallow and White-winged Triller are back. Michael Ramsey

	White-breasted Woodswallow (possible) Alexandra Parade, Father Little Reserve, Melbourne Hello. I have been contemplating whether to contact you or not and have been putting it off for the last few days. However, the recent sighting at WTP prompted me to contact you. We were driving to work west-bound at 8am and I am pretty sure I saw one on the overhang of a tall light pole just opposite the Coles service station. It just didn't look like a magpie lark (which is common in the area). I told my wife to pull up white-breasted woodswallow on the Morecombe app, and it looked just like it. Anyway, thought I would contact you in case anyone else could corroborate the sighting. Cheers. Reza Mohammed
	White-breasted Woodswallow Western Treatment Plant, Werribee A single White-breasted Woodswallow seen and photographed along 280 South Rd, at the east end near 35E Conservation Ponds. I think this would be a first for the plant?? (Moderator's note: last records here was 3/10/2012 and 6/11/2012, still a great sighting though). Ian Llewellyn per Steve Davidson
	Pacific Golden Plover WTP, Kirk Point Four partial moult Golden Plover on the rocks between the Beach Rd. boat launching ramp and Kirk Point, just after low tide. A total of 84 species in a half day observing, none of which was north of Beach Rd. Tom Fletcher

Mon 23 Sep	Beautiful Firetail Fairy Dell Flora Reserve Our first visit to this interesting location. Did most of the walk. Mistletoe in fruit everywhere Warm and calm conditions Beautiful Firetail (1) The first bird we encountered in the car park. A beautiful specimen. Seen very close up! Hedley Earl & Irena Earl
Mon 23 Sep	Banded Stilt, Ruddy Turnstone, Broad-billed Sandpiper Western Treatment Plant, Werribee Windy but productive day observing waders at the plant today. Some Banded Stilt have returned with 5 at Summer Pond 2 amongst the avocet flock. Also there was a single Ruddy Turnstone, still sporting considerable breeding plumage. We observed probably the same Broad-billed Sandpiper as has been recorded many times now on the mudflats to the east of Beach Rd termination with around 1000 other waders on a rising tide. 	Beautiful Firetail Road between Lindenow and Maffra We were driving through part of the Mitchell river forest when we heard the sharp call of the beautiful fire tail. We stopped and sighted one bird. Hedley and Irena Earl
	Painted Honeyeater Croajingolong National Park (Shipwreck Creek) Heard calling at campground for 15 minutes at approximately 6am. All 3 of us are very familiar with the call given it has been a target species in other locations. Hedley and Irena Earl and Bernie O'Keefe

	Powerful Owl. Ann Street, Williamstown., about 30 metres north-east of Nelson Place. At 2.35pm, I observed a single adult Powerful Owl (possibly a male), perched in a large Banksia integrifolia (Coast Banksia) in Ann Street on the wharf side of Nelson Place. The bird has been in and around the Williamstown area for some time. Peter Gibbons
Sun 22 Sep	Common Sandpiper, Baillon's Crake Western Treatment Plant, Werribee There was a Common Sandpiper on the causeway between Pond 8 & 9, 115E Lagoon early this morning. I last saw one here in this spot on 26/10/2009. Also as per John Barkla's report there are a few Baillon's Crake at Pond 4 in T-section, which with a little patience can be viewed really closely. A single Freckled Duck was present on Pond 8, 115E Lagoon, and there are Whiskered Tern present in many places now. The pair of Brolga was hanging around Kirk Point, not sure if they'll make a third attempt at nesting this spring as the second nest was abandoned over a week ago now, possibly due to fox attack. Sun 22 Sep	Olive-backed Oriole Gresswell Forest Wildlife Reserve Single individual feeding in the gums with the lorikeets. This bird was very vocal and easily heard and found for the whole time I was in the park. Rohan Long

	Glossy Black-Cockatoo Croajingolong National Park Six birds located near the end of Wallagaraugh Rd track. A couple of good days birding around Mallacoota despite battling ticks and Black snakes! Bernie OKeefe, Hedley and Irena Earl.
	Nankeen Night-Heron Caulfield Park Nankeen Night-Heron (6). Most with breeding plumage. Three times as many as I've sighted in five years Debbie Lustig
	Freckled Duck, Australasian Shoveler, Pink-eared Duck Lake Linlithgow Spectacular sight with birds all over..many thousands of pink-eared continous calling clearly audible in absolute calm conditions today. 	Swift Parrot Mahon Lane, Osbornes Flat (Yackandandah) Was pleasantly suprised to watch two swifties fly through the paddock. I missed the first one, and was about to try and locate it in the neighbours trees, when 30 seconds later another bird came through at about tree height. The birds were calling constantly in flight. 	Superb Parrots Gower's Gate entrance to Barmah National Park, Picola West 9 members of the Broken Creek Field Naturalists Club watched numerous Superb Parrots using this area to travel between different feeding areas in, and adjoining the forest . Paul Huckett
