Sun 29 Sep Grey Goshawk Campbell Park and environs
Grey Goshawk (1) Male bird seen circling over the canopy on flat wings. Pale grey above, white below finely barred with grey on the chest. Yellow legs.

Sat 28 Sep Scarlet Honeyeater Namadgi Visitors Centre
Scarlet Honeyeater (2) Males seen in large yellow box tree to left of main path to Mt Tennant, not far from the road crossing. Tree has dead crown and a large section in full flower. Birds observed perched in dead branches for about a minute before flying off to the west, after which I lost track of them.

Sat 28 Sep Whiskered Tern Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
5 Whiskered Terns over Pond 4. 2 Freckled Ducks and 6 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers were the other highlights. [Note: entry to the site is restricted but birds can be seen from the road.]

Fri 27 Sep Sharp-tailed Sandpiper Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
At least 6 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers (visible from Old Dairy Flat Road) at the southern pond at Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant at 13:00 today. The birds flew off and had not returned by 14:30 Milburn

At least 3 Whiskered Terns (visible from Old Dairy Flat Road) hawking insects over the northern ponds at Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant at 14:00 today.

14 in front of Cygnus hide this morning.

White-bellied Cuckooshrike Diddams Close Park, Lake Ginninderra
Another attempt to find the Singing Honeyeater, without luck, but a dark morph White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike was a nice surprise.

Sun 22 Sep Singing Honeyeater Diddams Close Park, Lake Ginninderra
Searching for Crested Shrike-tit. Received quite a bonus sighting as a result. Singing Honeyeater (1) Single mid sized honeyeater. Olive brown above, pale below streaked brown. Tail and wing feathers brown edged in yellow. Strong black eyeline edged yellow underneath. Single bird seen feeding in wattle and grevillea on a hillside to the south of the western loop carpark on Diddams close. Observed over a 2 hour period with two other people. Thanks to James Blanden for the picture.
