G'day,

The checklist of the birds of the Pumicestone region on my "sunbittern" website was recently recommended to a potential visitor to the area by Jude (thanks, Jude) but I should say that there are a few additional species to go on this checklist. I have been really busy recently (see below) and have not managed to update the website for some months. Additional species include a few that have been recorded from Bribie Island this year ... Freckled Duck, Brown Skua, Kelp Gull, Pacific Gull and Masked Owl.

Some of the "older" subscribers may remember that some years ago I produced a small booklet on the birds of Buckley's Hole Conservation Park. I've been under pressure to revise this and reprint it, but have resisted. However, I have produced, for the Bribie Island Environmental Protection Association Inc., an "Annotated Checklist of the Birds of Bribie Island". I'm collecting the proofs today and it should be available, from BIEPA, in a couple of weeks or so.

Cheers - Trevor Ford.
