The following is a digest of Sightings Reported on Birdpedia for the period
Monday, June 17, 2013 to Sunday, June 23, 2013:
Area: SA
Date: Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Location: On our property at Rockleigh
Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) (1) Our first sighting of a hobby. It
chased a swallow, unsuccessfully, then perched at the top of a dead tree. We
were planting trees, with lots of dirt on our hands, so naturally our cameras
were back in the shed.
Australian Owlet-nightjar (Aegotheles cristatus) (1) This is only our second
sighting in 5 years. It was sitting on a branch but too far away to get a good
photo.
Diamond Firetail (Stagonopleura guttata) (2) Diamond firetails are sometimes
around but we have not seen them since July last year.
