Hi all,

Last week I took a trip out of Sydney into the Watagans, about a 2 hour drive north, and had a wonderful time birding and recording in the tall forests. Superb Lyrebird's were singing almost all day and birdlife was abundant. Plenty of Red-browed Treecreepers around, in fact I think if the calls were anything to go off they out numbered White-throated in many places. Also seen or heard were Gang-gang Cockatoos, Green Catbird, Rose Robin, White-naped Honeyeater, Horsfields & Shining Bronze Cuckoos.

Here's a sample of a male lyrebird calling close to the microphones - https://soundcloud.com/wildambience/superb-lyrebird-menura-novaehollandiae

and a late afternoon sample with Green Catbirds very vocal! - https://soundcloud.com/wildambience/watagans

Regards

Marc Anderson
