There's been a fair bit of discussion about various policy changes underway
by the Liberal National Party Government in Queensland which have
far-reaching consequences for environmental protection. Birds and other
wildlife are seriously threatened by, among other things: the scrapping of
tree-clearing restrictions, the opening up state forests for logging, the
reviewing of various national park declarations, the opening  up of national
parks for grazing and the ditching of wild river declarations.

 

I've attempted to summarise these concerns in a piece published this weekend
