True and my role that sort of started the diversion was to clarify whether
birds are identified correctly, when the issue may be are birds being named
as something that they are not, if wording conventions are unclear and thus
a wrong impression given.  Beyond that I suppose few of us have any
information to add about the Night Parrot.

Hi all,

I believe the original point of discussion, before this thread was
thoroughly hijacked by the resident pedants of birding-aus, was Night
Parrots. I find it interesting to say the least that the issue of
capitalisation is apparently of so much more interest than Australia's most
enigmatic species...
