Published sightings for the week ending 7 Apr 2013.

Thu 4 Apr Edible-nest-type Swiftlet, Eurasian Wigeon, Franklin's Gull Broome Sewage Ponds, Carnarvon, Cervantes, Western Australia
George Swann reports that there are three Edible-nest-type Swiftlets currently at the Broome sewage ponds. I noticed on the weather map tonight a monsoonal cloud band lying across the northern Kimberley. The Lesser Black-backed Gull has gone. Frank O'Connor advises that still there are the Wigeon at Carnarvon and the Franklin's Gull at Cervantes.

Mon 1 Apr Black-tailed Gull Cairns Esplanade, Queensland
1 Black-tailed Gull seen today from 2pm-4pm on The Esplanade, Cairns. There is no doubt about the ID of this bird, a first immature non-breeding Black-tailed Gull, the first of this species for Cairns & one of just a handful of records in Australia. More photos are available on request - one of Martin's herewith to show some key diagnostics.
