Shrike-tits and Silvereyes - Banyule Flats

On Sunday 17 March there were few ducks or waterbirds of any kind at 
Banyule Swamp.  However along the riverbank I found myself in a flock of 
Silvereyes - very flighty and continuously moving and calling - there 
must have been well over a hundred, probably many more, passing from one 
group of wattles to another.  None stayed long enough to see flank 
colour.  I think they were probably newly-arrived migrants.They were 
accompanied by more confiding Grey Fantails - all very dark specimens - 
and a pair of Crested Shrike-tits - now very much less common than they 
used to be in the 1970s.
