A seawatch off Pt Lookout on Sunday 4.3 produced the foll:

Easterly wind, tending a little southerly later in the morning, 15-20
knots, gusting possibly to 25. Only 1 rain shower of about 30 minutes,
but rain sitting several kms off shore at times reduced visibility. As
could be expected 100% cloud cover. Seas - whitecapped 1.5 - 2m swell -
breaking heavily on the rocks below.

Wedge-tailed Shearwaters - 200/hr 8-9.00, then dropping off to 50/hr
after 11.00 - all south.
White-necked Petrel - 1 very distant, screaming < north at a rate of
knots.
Flutt/Hutt type Shearwater - 1 < north.
Arctic Skua - 2, 1 each way, different birds.
Common Noddy - 2 > south, although I may well have missed more between
the waves as they were keeping well down in the troughs.
Black Noddy - 1 > south, close.

Generally not very exciting. 1 Bush Stone curlew in the cemnetry from
the bus was a pleasant finish.

Cheers

Colin
