January 2013 - Another enthusiastic group of birders departed from the Moyne
River Port Fairy @ 7.15am. The seas were choppy and it was overcast and
breezy. Although it did moderate on the return journey. A total of 22
species were seen with more than 100 birds off the stern at each of the two
stops.
Australasian Gannet 25, Shy Albatross 10, Blackbrowed Albatross 4, Campbell
Island Albatross 2, Wandering Albatross 2, Yellow Nosed Albatross 15,
Crested Tern 5, White-faced Storm Petrel 70, Fairy Prion 20, Great Winged
Petrel 100, White-chined Petrel 5, Short Tailed Shearwater 100's,
Fresh-footed Shearwater 200, Sooty Shearwater 20 and Fluttering Shearwater
1. Approximately half a dozen Australian Fur Seals were sighted as was an
