Two birds around flowering tree c150m N of carpark, also Banded, Black and Pied Honeyeaters in same tree!

Buff-banded Rail (1) Grazing on the mown areas at the western end of the lake , near Middleton Beach road, Albany.

Tiger Shrike
Home Island, Cocos-Keeling Islands
Tiger Shrike found at the Oceania House gardens on Home Island. This appears to be a different individual than that which was seen and photographed two weeks earlier on West Island. Also an Oriental Cuckoo and a possible Large-hawk Cuckoo on Home Island. Asian race of Dollarbird on Horsburgh Island.

Bridled Tern, Australian Gannet
Mangles Bay, Rockingham , Western Australia
Highest wind gust recorded so far Is) today in Mangles Bay was 54Kn (100Km). Just spotted an Australian Gannet, juvenile, that got blown in (we don't normally get them this close to shore), and a Bridled Tern struggling to fly and getting knocked into the water. Other than that the Pigeons seem to be the only birds in the air

Hodgson's Hawk-cuckoo
West Island, Cocos-Keeling Islands
Hodgson's Hawk-cuckoo on West Island, Cocos. Also Oriental Koel. Resident (and very helpful) birders Pam Jones and partner Geof had seen a Hodgson's a week earlier and also saw the Oriental Koel independently. Other birds that I have seen on West Island include the long-serving Eurasian Teal, an unidentified Shipe sp, two Oriental Pratincols, 6 Barn Swallows, Striated Heron, and stampedes of white-breasted waterhens.
