Hi Gary. You're not thinking of Western Gerygone are you? I think Western
Thornbill is strictly South West WA.

Not sure where you live but I remember seeing western thornbill at
warrumbungles based on John Bransbury's book.  It could be a lot closer than
WA, although I am sure you are aware there are other spots
