I received a complimentary copy of the new Pizzey a week ago. It really
sets the benchmark for the Australian field guides - very impressive.
Graham's daughter, Sarah is the editor of this edition and to my mind,
she has done a great job. One of the good things is that most
vagrant-accidentals have been taken out of the main body of the guide
and are now in a separate section towards the back. Another good thing
is that it concentrates on the Australian mainland birds with less
emphasis on Cocos and Christmas Islands and other political territories.
The order has more or less been re-arranged to follow that of the
Christidis & Boles order. The text has been updated and apart from a few
minor things that probably still need a tweak, it is excellent.
