Olympus LS voice recorder settings

For birds I would recommend a shotgun microphone. I use a Rode NTG-2. Can use external or internal battery power. The quality is good and is only around the $300 mark, though it is worthwhile getting the dead kitten windshield at extra cost.

Hi Judith et al.
I have just purchased an Olympus LS-7 (similar to LS-3) from B&H. I was
recommended this whilst in Malaysia recently.
I am interested if anyone has had much field practice just using the
on-board mics and if so, What settings have you found helpful?
