Morning all,
I've been looking into the origins of Eastern Rosellas in Adelaide and
wondered if anyone had any information on the subject. I'd heard from
one source that they were introduced to the area, but none of the field
guides mention this (even Simpson and Day, which usually points
introductions out on the maps). I've found a paper that suggests that
they spread from the Victorian border around ~1910 due to increased
agricultural activity and began breeding in Adelaide in 1934, citing
quite a few references that show the progress of the species across SA.
Just interested to see what people know or think on the matter.
Cheers,
Tony
