Hi all,

We had a Spangled Drongo at Irrawong Reserve, Warriewood, Sydney, NSW, today.
See Raja's picture on her website:

http://www.adarman.com/Trips/2012-July-8-Warriewood-NSW ;

Are the wintering drongos down here D. b. bracteatus or rather overshooting
southward migrants from one of the northern subspecies?

Among the 43 bird species we saw there today were:
1 Australian Brush-turkey
5+ Chestnut Teal
2+ Mallard x Pacific Black Duck hybrids and 2 Mallard mutants between
approximately 10 pure-looking Pacific Black Ducks (Raja has some photos of at
least one of the hybrids)
many Rainbow, Scaly-breasted and Musk Lorikeets in the flowering Swamp
Mahoganies
1 Superb Lyrebird
1 White-throated Treecreeper
lots of Spotted Pardalotes, Silvereyes (lateralis and westernensis) and
honeyeaters (especially good numbers of Scarlet and White-cheeked Honeyeaters)
in the flowering Swamp Mahoganies
2 Red-whiskered Bulbuls

Cheers,

Nikolas
