Thanks Dion, I've gone through all my recent Sea Mount trip birds and all seem
to be standard White-necked Petrels. The differences are extremely subtle it
would seem and to do with proportionate sizes of bill, wing and tail, maybe
really good photos will show this, maybe not.

On a different note, Brian Russell and myself visited the Sunshine Coast
headlands yesterday to see how the Wandering Tattlers were colouring up. First
stop Caloundra South Headland, fishermen + dogs = 0 Tattlers. Next stop our
next favoured headland to the north Pt. Cartwright, fishermen + dogs = 0
Tattlers. So, on to Alexandra Headland in between, where we located 8 roosting
together at high tide in the centre of the headland with very little to disturb
them, 7 coming into breeding plumage and one non starter which should over
winter. Judging by it's weight compared to the other fatties I don't think it's
going any other place soon. Anyone wishing to seen these stunning waders, they
were located from the top of the headland looking down on the rocks below from
where the steps lead down and just to the left of there. Approach carefully and
slowly and you should be well rewarded. Cheers - Paul W.
