Sat 21 Apr Pomerine Jaeger Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
A couple of first summer birds on Saturday

Tahiti Petrels Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
Over 50 Tahiti Petrels today in small flocks!

Streaked Shearwaters Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
Excellent prolonged views of 1 bird

Providence Petels Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
Good numbers c 15 back for the winter. Many in lovely fresh plumage

Found by Paul Walbridge when we got back from the pelagic.

Fri 20 Apr Pink-eared Duck Winton
At the older STP off the end of Vindex St, a single Pink-eared Duck with Grey Teal, Hardhead, Australasian Grebe and Hoary-headed Grebe.

White-faced Storm Petrel, Streaked Shearwater, Black Petrel, Kermadec Petrel, Long-tailed Jaeger Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
An excellent Autumn pelagic inc 3-4 White-faced Storm Petrels, 1 Streaked Shearwater, 1 Black Petrel, 1 Kermadec Petrel, 1 Long-tailed Jaeger, 50+ Tahiti and c15 Providence Petrels. A total of 18 species recorded outside the seaway. I'll put some photos up tomorrow.

Tue 17 Apr Chestnut-breasted Quail-Thrush Bladensburg National Park, Winton
Two separate pairs and a single male sighted about 2 km south of Skull Hole (22o35'24.9"S 143o01'06.7"E). Birds were calling strongly. This species now seen regularly in the park. This area of the park is only accessible with approval from the Ranger in Charge due to its remoteness. Northern limit of range for the species.

Mon 16 Apr Ground Cuckoo-Shrike Bladensburg National Park, Winton
A flock of six seen on the outer Scammy Gorge track. Not recorded on the park bird species list.

Fri 13 Apr New Zealand Storm- Petrel, White-tailed Tropicbird Southport Sea Mounts Trip 13 and 16th April 2012
Listed below are the species, with totals for the two days and only of the species sighted out on the Sea Mounts. Red-tailed Tropicbird * 1, White-tailed Tropicbird * 1, Wilson*s Storm-Petrel * 63, New Zealand Storm- Petrel * c.10, White-faced Storm-Petrel * 5, Black-bellied Storm-Petrel * 1, White-bellied Storm-Petrel * 1, Wandering Albatross (all considered gibsoni) * 4, Wedge-tailed Shearwater * 11, Flesh-footed Shearwater * 231, Short-tailed Shearwater * 8, Tahiti Petrel * 3, Kermadec Petrel * 29, Great-winged Petrel * 247, Providence Petrel * 67, Gould*s Petrel * 54, White-necked Petrel * 11, Pomarine Jaeger * 3, Arctic Jaeger * 1, White Tern * 4, Sooty Tern * 3, Common Noddy * 1.

Mon 9 Apr Lewin's rail O'Reilly's Guesthouse, Lamington National Park, SE QLD
In an unusual location for the species, was living among croften weed and was the 1st one seen in Lamington NP. Most likely previously breeding, there are up to three individuals.
