Birdline Tasmania

Published sightings for the week ending 25 Mar 2012.

Thu 22 Mar Masked Owl (probable) Hobart Intercity Cycleway
A friend of mine asked me about a bird she spotted riding North at around 9:30 pm. The following descriptions were given: * Owl, ~30 cm, brown, defined face mask, raggedy wing tips. * mask was well-defined, pale and with a widows peak in the space above the eyes. * On the bike track, near some trees, past the bridge. A search of the area and domain might be fruitful!

Wed 14 Mar Buller's Shearwater Eaglehawk Pelagic
A single Buller's Shearwater sighted on Wednesday's pelagic trip. Also high numbers of Buller's Albatross, a carpet of Short-tailed Shearwaters and 5 Fluttering Shearwaters.

Birdline Tasmania is sponsored by Eremaea Birds and co-ordinated and hosted by Eremaea Birds.
