As my partner is the local wildlife carer here in Weipa, I was handed a very
tired young Arctic Jaeger today, found at a nearby building site.  We have had
some bad monsoonal weather of late which we assume is the cause of this unusual
bird arriving here.  It provided some id issues as it has a very pale head,
breast and belly, although a feint cap and breast band is present.  4 white
primary shafts and 2 small pointed central tail feathers helped form a positive
id though.  I have posted a report and photo on birdline NQ although they seem
to take a couple of days to publish them.
