Hi Folks,
 We were interested in Phil's comments about fruit-doves not calling much 
as our Superb Fruit-Doves have been calling for at least six weeks but 
as is usual difficult to see, we did see two males together this week. 
Our Noisy Pitta returned this week after being absent since mid-May with 
at least four heard calling today and two seen. If you want to see and

Sunbird/Wings group visiting, again with virtually no calls from the 
Ptilinopus doves, but during lunch from our veranda we picked up a 
Rose-crowned Fruit Dove feeding in the myrtle which has just come into 
fruit. This was swiftly followed by 2 male Superb Fruit Doves and 2 
Wompoos, a very neat veranda trifecta. Yesterday we had a White-headed 
Pigeon feeding there so clearly the word is out.
 Probable sighting of a Swinhoe's Snipe at Hastie's Swamp also, this 
from Terry Reis from Cairns, so if you are up there do check out the 
snipe.
