Hi All

Over the past month Kangaroo Island, SA, has experienced a significant
influx of waterfowl from the mainland-most notably Hardhead which has
arrived in 10,000++. Also, and a bit more surprising to me, is the 10,000++
Hoary-headed Grebe that have suddenly appeared alongside Hardheads on our
brackish paperbark lagoons. Up until about a month ago our lagoons were
pretty much empty of birds. We have had flooding over past two winters and
presently all wetlands are full to the brim and will provide excellent
habitat throughout the summer. I look forward to more arrivals.

Cheers

Chris Baxter
