Discussion seems to have centered around a ME66 Sennheiser mic - don't forget the ME64/K6 module. This is a lovely short relatively inexpensive mic, easy to carry in bum bag together with an Olympus LS11, home made windshield, wooden handle covered with a bicycle grip etc. The easier it is to carry the more likely you are to use it. I use Adobe Audition v3 for editing, expensive but excellent. No matter PC or Mac, the editing programs are very similar.
