Sun 10 Jul	Salvin's Albatross Mistral Point, Maroubra A Salvin's Albatross, coming close in under the headland and giving excellent views, the highlight of an early morning seawatch at Maroubra. Also many Black-browed, several Yellow-nosed and Shy Albatross (ad + imms of all) enjoying the wind, a Sth Giant Petrel, several small flocks of Fluttering Shearwaters, 3 Brown Skuas and, despite many close observations, no Red-billed Gulls(!). Surprisingly few whales although one pod of Hump-backs flanked by dolphins (to far out to ID) Robert Griffin
	Osprey Wifred Barret Drive North Entrance The Osprey was battling to make head way into the strong south-westly breeze. It had a fish in its talons. A good sightingfor the Central Coast Allan Benson
Sat 9 Jul	Grey backed Storm Petrel, Slender-billed Prion Sydney pelagic Highlights of the July Sydney pelagic were a single Grey backed Storm Petrel and 2+ Slender billled Prions. Also 3-4 Buller's Albatross. Sydney pelagic trip (reported by M. Lord)
	Regent Honeyeater Morisset South 4-5 Regent Honeyeaters this afternoon between two sites south of Morisset near the sub-station. Still very good numbers of Yellow-faced, White-naped and Noisy Friarbirds as well as resident honeyeaters. Swamp Mahogany still blossoming well. Allan Richardson
Fri 8 Jul	Barn Owl Gladstone Marina Parklands Owl roosting in a Bunya pine was harassed and flushed out by a noisy angry flock of Little Friarbirds. Ben Weston
	Chestnut-rumped Heathwren, Tawny-crowned Honeyeater Kuring-gai Chase National Park 1 Chestnut-rumped Heathwren along the Basin track. Seen calling then disappeared. Also 3 Tawny-crowned Honeyeaters among the more common species. Max de Beer
Thu 7 Jul	Australian Shelducks Wilford Lane Wetlands Milton A pair of Aus Shelducks have arrived for the first time in yonks at the wetlands at the end of Wilford lane. While at the other end of Burrill Lake 2 white Domestic Geese were seen sheltering among the rocks on the shore from the huge winds. Both of these species probably wind blown here. Bob Rusk
Wed 6 Jul	Powerful Owl Woodfield Avenue, Bundeena, Royal National Park One bird heard calling out the front of my house at 22.05. Called for around two minutes. Deryk Engel
	Pacific Baza Balls Head Drive, Waverton, seen from Coal Loader community garden About 12 midday. The Pacific Baza came gliding twice in an arc just over the trees on Balls Head Drive, accompanied by a lot of commotion from Noisy Miners. Magpies and Currawongs also unsettled. Liz Wilson
	White-fronted Tern, Red Knot, Double-banded Plover, Ruddy Turnstone Long Reef Marine Reserve 10 White-fronted Terns in varying plumages seen. The Red Knot is still around. Also seen were 3 Ruddy Turnstones, 2 Grey-tailed Tattlers, 4 Double-banded Plovers. Some Black-browed Albatross flew close to the reef as well as some Australasian Gannetts. Mark Young
	Green Pygmy-goose, Wandering Whistling-Ducks Smiths Road Lake, Emerald Beach the pair still there today, along with 23 WWDs, et al. Most ducks o'all I have seen there (6 sp.) plus a few Jacanas Dick Cooper
	Lewin's Rail, Grey Goshawks, Brown Goshawk, Rockwarbler Warriewood Wetlands Within 20 minutes of arriving we heard 2 (probably three) Lewin's Rails calling just off the track in Irrawong (although it took almost 2 hours to get a look at one). While we were trying to find the Rails, the recently reported white morph Grey Goshawk flew past (later in the day we found a normal grey morph) and a Brown Goshawk was also seen flying overhead in the main wetlands. A Rockwarbler was also on the small waterfall close to the end of Irrawong Rd. Overall, a great morning at Warriewood! Joshua Bergmark and Henry Coleman
	Swift Parrots Joshua Porter Reserve Chain Valley Bay South 10 Swit Parrots still present at Joshua Porter Reserve this morning along with Rainbows and Scaly-breasted Lorikeets Trudy Robinson
Tue 5 Jul	Square-tailed Kite Pitt Town Lagoon One bird flying over Lagoon and later over the golf course. It was chased by Australian Magpies and Noisy Miners. Ted Wnorowski
	Banded Lapwing Bushells Lagoon, Hawkesbury Three birds found on the turf farm south of the Lagoon. Plenty of water birds and raptors (including one juv White-bellie Sea-eagle, 2 Whistling Kites, 1 Swamp Harrier) in the Lagoon. Ted Wnorowski
	Fairy Prion Norfolk Island 2899 Bird experts in NZ and Australia now agree that the Prion seen and photographed at Norfolk Island was a Fairy Prion based on the bill measurements and the tail and width and the general sizde of the bird. John & Sue O'Malley, Anthony Cavallaro, Margaret Christian
	Fairy prion Norfolk Island 2899 Our "Antartic Prion" has turned out to be a Fairy Prion. The bird was found dead this am and we measured the bill with Simpson and Day's bill sizes at the beginning and our birds bill was a match for the Fairy Prion John & Sue O'Malley, Anthony Cavallaro and Margaret Christian
Mon 4 Jul	Slender-billed Prion, Double-banded Plover Norfolk Island 2899 Observed yesterday afternoon at about 3pm. a very tired looking Petrel, after referring to a couple of Guides we initially decided that it was an Antarctic Prion way out of its range, however subsequent events have proved it to be a Slender-billed Prion. Last couple of days we have had big southerly blows, so probably the cause of its northerly position. .17 Double-banded Plovers also seen. John & Sue O'Malley, Anthony Cavallaro, Margaret Christian
	Tawny Frogmouths, Pacific Baza, King Parrots, Pied Butcherbird My back yard at Warners Bay, N.S.W. Lake Macquarie. These and others use my backyard & verandah as a retreat, and a "soup Kitchen". I have never "tamed a wild bird...they come to me when they are confident" Some become hand feeders. a cheeky maggie strolled into the house as I went to the phone. Up the steps, onto the piano, and warbled a most beautiful song to us. He has brought all of his three clutches to show us. We had Tawnies breeding in th back yard, 3 times, but the car headlights dazzle them to death. My greatest delight was hand feeding Bosun Birds on the wing, at sea, of the N.S.W. coast in '77, from my ship. Also, have you been "EYED" for many minutes from 10 ft.by a Wandering albertross in the Great southern Ocean? Pluvers & Cattle egrets live in our paddocks too. Alan Chapman, and Ruth
	Silver Gull Widgiewa Road Carwoola NSW A pair of probably adult birds observed flying low overhead west towards Canberra at around mid-day. Only the second sighting here of this species in 10 years, the first being in October 2005. John Bissett
	Gull-Billed Tern Burrill Lake/Ulladulla A single non breeding Tern was seen with 5 Caspian Tern on Burrill Lake on the West side of the bridge resting on a small islet. Best seen from Rackam Cres. Burrill Lake. First one I've seen down here although we've had Little,Crested,Caspian,Whiskered and White -fronted in the last month or so. Bob Rusk
	Banded Lapwing Boat Harbour, Botany NP Suprised to see a Banded Lapwing (see attached) at Boat Harbour this morning. Given the arrival of at least 5 4wd's worth of fisherpeople and at least 3 accompanying dogs on the rock platform as I left the reef, I don't know if this bird will stick around there, however. Other bird sightings include several Black-browed Albatross in quite close, Red-necked Stint (1 in semi-breeding plumage), and the rest of the usual suspects. Mammals included at least 30 Humpbacks at both Boat Harbour and Cape Solander (around the corner), 1 Common Dolphin at Cape Solander, and 2 (NZ?) Fur Seals at Yena Point (Botany NP). 	Rose Robin Bundanoon (track to Glow Worm Glen) I finally caught up with a Rose Robin this afternoon. This is species no. 121 for my town. Lorne Johnson
	Little Ravens BAKERS LAGOON RICHMOND there are a number of Little Ravens feeding in the paddocks alongside the road opposite Bakers Lagoon Cornwallis Road. A good county tick. Keith Brandwood
	Powerful Owl Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney See in in the same tree as previous reports, although was not present the previous morning, found with Flying Fox Tony Keene
	Swift Parrot Joshua Porter Reserve, Chain Valley Bay South At least 10 Swift Parrots were found near picnic tables between 10am to 1130am. Earlier brief visits to Salvation Creek Picnic Area, Kuringai Chase NP 8am and Spotted Gum park Britannia Ave Watanobbi 930am did not produce any sightings of Swift Parrot. Tun Pin Ong
Sat 2 Jul	Regent Honeyeater Morisset South 10 Regent Honeyeaters at staging site south of Morisset in late afternoon hawking for insects in late light. No blossom present at site, birds calling and hawking from canopy and dead limbs in vicinity of creek line they have previously roosted along. Allan Richardson
