Gooday all

We just arrived back from a few days chasing birds at Round Hill NR and
Nombinnie NR targeting the Red-lored Whistler and Southern Scrub-robin. Did
not get to Yathong NR, spent most of our time within several kilometres of
the old wheat paddock. We dipped on the RLW but saw among lots of other
great birds the Southern Scrub-robin (great views), Chestnut Quail-thrush,
Shy Heathwren, White-fronted Honeyeater (many in the flowering mallee trees)
and Painted Button-quail (watched them forming platelets). On the way home
today (Monday) we saw many Pink-eared Ducks and had close views of
Blue-billed Ducks at Gum Swamp near Forbes.

Thanks heaps to all who offered suggestions and locations to find the target
birds. Definitely another trip out there soon for the RLW.
