Regent Honeyeater
Lurg Hills, Victoria
2 further Regent Honeyeater sightings in the Lurg Hills, one near the Quarries and the other a few km south of Greta West.The copious Ironbark blossom this year has attracted hordes of honeyeaters. An earlier Regent sighting was during Easter near Kelly Gap, where it stayed for a week on the Ironbark blossom once again. [Ed note: a very big tick (in both sense of the term) to the community based Regent Honeyeater Habitat Restoration Project in the Lurg Hills, near Benalla. TD],

Possible "Uniform Swiftlet"
Mirrai Lookout, Kakadu , Northern Territory
Pair of swiftlets see at Mirrai Lookout, Kakadu last week. They had all the characteristics of Uniform Swiftlet. (Moderator note: there is is good evidence to suggest these birds were mis-identified. The observer has put in a brief BARC submission. He describes the width of the base of the wing as 1.75 x the body width - too wide for a Swiftlet. The observer warns us that he is inexperienced so and there is a possibility that the birds could be Little Woodswallows. Thanks Mike Carter.]

Possible "Grey Heron"
Private property, Tortilla Flats Rd, Adelaide River, NT, Northern Territory
Mature Grey Heron seen fishing in a small man made dam. [Editorial note: please note that there is a very strongly likelihood that this bird is not a Grey Heron, with most likely alternative being a White-necked Heron. TD].

Chinese Pond Heron, Black-winged Stilt
'Old' Christmas Island Resort beyond Golf Course, Christmas Island
Chinese Pond Heron seen at the 'old' Christmas Island Resort beyond the Golf Course. Also a couple of Black-winged Stilt (White-headed as per Birds of SE Asia) in Flying Fish Cove and some Whiskered Tern (x 3).

Orange Bellied Parot
WTP Borrow pit, Victoria
Mid morning I sighted a pair of parrots which I believe were orange bellied on the far side of the borrow pits. Initially the birds were sitting on top of a 2 metre high bush then after about 10 minutes they flew down to feed on the edge of one of the centre islands. After a further 5 minutes or so they then flew into denser low glasswort where they were well hidden from view.

Orange-bellied Parrot
Western Treatment Plant, Victoria
5 Neophemas flying overhead at Borrow Pit 8am this morning. Appeared dark green with bright orange belly markings on at least 2 birds. Not calling so identification difficult but considered most likely O.B.P's. Another 2 birds were seen around 9 am in the same area in similar circumstances with Peter Lansley.

Sooty Owl, Logrunner, Pilotbird, E. Bristlebird
Bellawongarah/Bundewallah NSW, New South Wales
Heard a Sooty Owl call 4 times from 10:15pm. Saw a large bird fly across the sky from the house around that time so think it was possibly the Sooty as the call then came from across the other side. The Logrunners and Pilotbirds are very vocal most days here and seen on occasion. While walking in the known area for E. Bristlebirds on our property, I heard two birds calling late afternoon.
